CSF collaborated with the team at Carbahn to ensure maximum compatibility and performance, creating a drop-in solution for both platforms. Designed specifically to handle the extra heat of their new S63 Stroker Kit, this oil cooler built for ultimate performance and power.
However, performance isn't the only reason to upgrade. Many F1X & F9X owners have been forced to replace their oil coolers due to leaks and damage, largely because of their vulnerable mounting position; a problem that worsens with lowered suspension setups. A stronger, more robust design was needed to solve these issues.
The original OE oil cooler from BMW is an all metal design which would make you think it would be fairly robust. However, there are several weak spots in the design that make it far less durable than it could be. The CSF design resolves these issues with more robust materials and reinforcing weak points. At first glance, the original BMW OE oil cooler appears solid due to its all-metal construction. However, design weaknesses make it far less durable than expected. TIG-Welded End Tanks - Stronger and more durable than the factory's brazed construction, reducing the risk of leaks.
